Multi Vitamin
Does a multi-vitamin pill actually give you all those necessary vitamins and minerals?
I know a multi-vitamin is just a supplement and shouldn’t always be fully relied upon, but let’s say one day you don’t get very much Vitamin C from what you eat throughout the day. Should you stress about it or will the pill (which says “100% of Vitamin C”) make up for all the loss? Can the body use the Vitamin C from the pill the same way it does from food?
Multi-vitamins can help make up for deficiencies in your diet. You should always try to get nutrients from food, but supplements can definitely help.
Choose supplements in powder form (capsules) since hard tablets (most tablets, anyway) are not broken down well in the body. Also, choose brands you can trust. There is a lot of crap out there. My company (CNCA) offers supplements guaranteed to be pure, but you can find some good Vitamin C brands on consumerlab.com (independent testing company).
