Preventing Heart Disease With Omega 3

Preventing Heart Disease With Omega 3

You went to the doctor and got the bad news. They took the detailed tests, Stress test, ECG, Blood Test and many more. The results came back with undesired readings.

You have coronary heart disease,(CHD) which is when your small blood vessels that transport the blood and oxygen to your heart have narrowed. CHD is the major cause of death for both men and women in America.

Coronary Heart Disease is a result of plaque accumulating along walls of the artery which causes an obstruction in the flow of blood to your heart putting it under stress. Your first step should be toreduce cholesterol in your diet. Hopefully you have caught it before you are in need of more complicated treatment.

Even if you have developed Chronic Heart Disease, it’s never too late to start trying some precautionary measures by adding omega 3 in your diet. One of the best ways to keep from developing heart disease in the first place is to reduce the amount of the saturated fat in your diet and include more omega 3 rich foods.

Lower Blood Pressure With Omega 3 Supplements

By Dr. Yannick Pauli

One in three adults in the United States suffers from high blood pressure or hypertension, a condition that can damage the heart, kidneys, and blood vessels. High blood pressure is not a disorder per se, but if left alone it could lead to coronary heart disease and other major health problems. The tricky part about treating hypertension is that it almost never shows symptoms until it is too late. Fortunately, you can start preventing this condition now by maintaining a healthy lifestyle, eating the right foods, and beefing up your diet with omega 3 supplements.

Causes of hypertension

There are a number of things that can cause hypertension. Certain chronic conditions like thyroid disorder or kidney problems can contribute to hypertension, as well as medications for asthma and birth control pills. However, most adults who suffer from hypertension have unhealthy diets and lifestyles that contribute to obesity. The blood pressure rises as body weight increases, and obese people are six times more likely to develop hypertension that people whose weight is at a normal range. Eating fatty foods, high-cholesterol meals, and lack of exercise also place a person at risk for hypertension.

Promotes Heart Wellness & Protects Against Heart Attacks and Strokes

Fish oil continues to grow in medical reputation as a significant component to heart health. According to the American Heart Association, fish oil is effective in lessening the occurrence of heart disease and helps to reduce risk factors such as high cholesterol and high blood pressure. Clinical trials of heart attack survivors have found that daily consumption of fish oil capsules drastically reduce the risk of death, subsequent heart attacks and stroke. Omega-3s also lower blood triglycerides, help correct abnormal heartbeats, and can help prevent and treat atherosclerosis by preventing the development of plaque and blood clots, which tend to clog arteries.
